Camarones al Ajillo (Garlic Shrimp)


3 lb Prawns or extra large shrimp

½ cup Olive oil

6 garlic cloves (chopped)

2 lime juice

½ tsp oregano

3 tbsp parsley (finely chopped)

1 tsp salt

1 to 2 tsp Tabasco sauce (optional)


Use a large frying pan or skillet. Add olive oil and heat on medium. Add garlic and sauté for about 1 minute. Add shrimp, stir and cook for about 5 to 7 minutes or until they turn pink. Add lime juice, oregano, salt and parsley. Stir and cook for another minute. Taste to correct seasoning. Add Tabasco sauce.

Remove from heat and place on a heated serving dish or platter. Serve immediately. Can be accompanied by other side dishes, and/or by bread to dip in and absorb the garlic-flavored oil.
