Ensalada 1905 (1905 Salad)


4 tomatos (diced)

1 med Iceberg lettuce (chopped)

6 oz ham (julienned)

½ lb Swiss cheese (julienned)

3 tsp Romano cheese (grated)

2/3 cup Spanish olives (pitted)

1 lemon (juiced)


1 cup olive oil

¼ cup white vinegar

8 garlic clove (minced)

2 tsp Worcestershire sauce

2 tsp oregano

Black pepper (ground) to taste

Salt to taste


Dressing: In a mixing bowl, add minced garlic, Worcestershire sauce, and oregano. Beat these ingredients with a whisk until smooth. Start adding oil gradually and lastly, add vinegar, beating continuosly.

Place lettuce in bowl. Add ham, tomatoes and cheese. Add Spanish olives. Pour dressing and add Romano cheese (grated) and lemon juice. Toss salad and serve on chilled plates.
